It is finished

Thesis-004_th.jpgFinally, after weeks of writing…I present.."Molecular Aspects of Flow-Induced Crystallization of Polypropylene," a thesis by me. By the way, that picture is a stack of 5 copies of my thesis (final page count: 190). I don’t really feel like I am done.  Maybe it hasn’t hit me yet or maybe it is because I still have to submit four manuscripts to journals (based on thesis chapters) in the next 2 weeks. Anyway you look at it, the hard part is over. My thesis defense it scheduled for Nov. 29 at 11 am PST. It is really just a formality and amounts to a 45-50 minute presentation of my thesis research. After that, we will be swept away from Pasadena by movers and airplanes and end up in Texas.  I start working at ExxonMobil on Dec. 12, so not too much of a break. But it will be nice to have a real paycheck.  Thanks for all your prayers and best wishes. I couldn’t have done it without you.
